Festival Style With Target

Festival season is here! Whether you’re on your phone skimming through social media or watching entertainment news on T.V., it seems like everything has been about Coachella lately, with the focus less on the music and more on what the celebrities who were attending were wearing (I love seeing the fashion, so I’m not mad at it…).

I grew up listening to classic rock with my dad, and I remember watching Woodstock (the mother of all festivals) with him on more than one occasion and being mesmerized by the performances of Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Janis Joplin, The Who, and all of the other greats who performed there back in 1969. While the music was outstanding and is still part of what I listen to today, there is something about that time period that has always had an influence on my style.

Whether you are headed to a huge music festival like Coachella this summer or are attending a smaller one in your hometown, I wanted to give you a little festival style inspiration to get you ready! I am teaming up with Target to bring you two looks that are perfect for festival season and won’t break the bank!

When I think about getting dressed for a music festival, I think about wearing something that is effortless and comfortable with a bohemian vibe. When I went to Target to shop for these looks, I was seriously blown away by the options they had. I just kept grabbing piece after piece, and before I knew it I could barely hold my arm up (I totally went and got a cart and continued to add pieces…)! From fringe and lace to ethnic prints and macrame, Target had every hot festival wardrobe essential you could think of. While I fell in love with several pieces, I narrowed it down to these outfits, where I combined a free-spirited, bohemian vibe with a little hint of dark and moody. You’ll have to let me know which outfit you like best!

I am in love with these high-waisted palazzo pants (that are under $20!!). They are extremely flattering and comfortable, which is always a plus when running around a music festival! The pants make such a statement that I kept my top half simple and incorporated a little moodier vibe with a solid black bikini top, Mossimo denim vest, black hat, and these killer lace-up gladiator sandals. I feel like festivals are a time to really have fun with your outfits and step out of your comfort zone a little! I wouldn’t go to lunch in a bikini top and pants, but for a festival I think it 100% works! Target has such an amazing assortment of swimsuits to choose from (I think you already I know I love their suits!), so I encourage you to try incorporating a swimsuit top into your outfit! Even wearing one under a graphic tee like the photo below (I couldn’t resist sharing another look…) can take your festival style to the next level!

For a more colorful and decorated festival look, I went with this vibrant printed Xhilaration romper. The popover top with fringe trim makes for a fashionably fun festival outfit! It is inevitable at every festival that you will want to sit down at some point, so this portable picnic throw was a no-brainer. I love the colorful tribal print and under-$20 price tag!
