There is something about shirt dresses that I am always drawn to. Long sleeves. Short sleeves. Silk. Cotton. If I see one in a store, I’m more than likely trying it on. When I spotted this layered buttoned shirt dress at Forever 21 a few weeks ago for under $23, my tune was no different. The cuffed short sleeves and layering detail was such a nice touch that I almost couldn’t believe it was from Forever 21. Is it just me or are they really stepping up their fashion? I swear I am constantly coming across pieces in their contemporary section that look far more expensive than their twenty-something price tag. The only negative part of this shirt dress is that it is unlined so I highly recommend wearing a slip of some sort underneath if you’re going to wear it as a dress. I think it could easily be worn as a tunic with a pair of skinny jeans and as it gets colder you can pair it with leggings and a blazer. With as much versatility as this piece has, I think it is definitely worth its price tag.
I always love pairing button up shirts and dresses with a statement necklace tucked under the collar and keeping the rest of the look very simple. Forever21 is a very hit and miss type of place for me… I generally need to shop there in person but kinda hate being in that crazy store! haha… I have had some great experiences online with them… all depends on what I’m getting! You look fabulous in this dress!
