Diner en Blanc Dallas

The simple gathering of a small group of friends in Paris over 27 years ago has turned into a world-wide phenomenon celebrated in over 60 cities and 25 countries known as Diner en Blanc (Dinner in White). In the summer of 1988 a man by the name of Francois Pasquier asked a group of friends to get together for a picnic to celebrate his return to Paris after traveling abroad for a few years. There were so many friends that he recommended they all wear white so they would be easily recognizable when they met at Bois de Boulogne. They spent the evening eating and drinking wine outside enjoying good conversation and laughter. The evening was so successful that they continued to have these gatherings every year where more and more people attended by word of mouth at a secret location with the goal of enjoying gourmet food and wine with good friends at the heart of one of the city’s most beautiful locations.

Dallas-Style-Blog Diner-En-Blanc-Fashion Diner-en-Blanc-DallasFor the first time in history, Dallas will be hosting its first ever Diner en Blanc Dallas event at a secret location on September 17th! The location will only be announced the day of the event when the 1,000+ guests are taken by bus from various locations in DFW to the secret location. The ones lucky enough to attend (there are multiple waiting lists!) will enjoy Apothic Wine, gourmet food by Wolfgang Puck, floral arrangements by Stems of Dallas, and an evening of entertainment and guaranteed surprises. All guests are REQUIRED to wear white from head to toe. In the various Diner en Blanc’s held across the world, the fashion is a major part of the evening. Both men and women are dressing to the nines and head pieces for women are very common. I was so inspired by the history and meaning of Diner en Blanc, I collaborated with Stems of Dallas on this gorgeous white flower crown to wear with this crisp white dress from Movida Boutique. The fact that the event is essentially a massive, chic picnic, a flower crown just seemed appropriate. And when you have Stems of Dallas to create something as effortlessly beautiful as this flower crown, how could you not wear one to complement your outfit?Bohemian-Flower-Crown Dallas-Style-Blogger-1 Flower-Crown-Dallas Flower-Crown-Style Diner-en-Blanc-style Dallas-Style-Blogger Movida-Boutique-Dallas Dallas-Style-Blog-1 Dallas-Fashion-Blog-1 Dallas-Fashion-Blog-2
