Booking Chicago

PUBLIC-Chicago-Hotel-TravelWhile most of you know I am always after a good deal whether it be food or fashion, it is no surprise the same goes for when I travel. My recent weekend in Chicago was a spontaneous one meaning last-minute flight tickets and attempting to find a hotel that wasn’t outrageously priced. While I lucked out with a great deal on Spirit Airlines, I had a feeling finding a hotel in the area of the conference would not be as easy of a task. The Hotel Tonight App has been good to me on more than one occasion (I used it recently when I was in South Beach Miami as well as for a birthday staycation for my husband in the past) and it did not disappoint in Chicago. Previously when I was contemplating going on this trip it seemed like all of the hotels were over $400. While I am sure they are all beautiful hotels and worth every penny, this was not the amount of money I was looking to spend. I had been checking my Hotel Tonight App and found several options that were significantly lower than other sites I had checked, but didn’t want to quite pull the trigger until I met up with my travel buddy, Jaclyn, of Pretty Petals at the airport. It’s a good thing I did wait because once I opened up Hotel Tonight inside the airport, a little green ribbon with “Geo Tag” appeared above several of the hotels with even lower pricing! This feature appears for same-day bookings after 12pm when you’re near a hotel or airport and hotels are supposedly even cheaper after 6pm! While the idea of waiting until the last minute may sound stressful, it can also pay off big time.

The modern hotel blew me away with its sophisticated design and attention to detail but it was the sheep skin rug draped over the chair in our room that really won me over. I highly recommend grabbing a coffee at the Library Bar inside that turns into a moody, craft cocktail lounge at night. The historic Pump Room located inside the hotel has had guests like Steve Martin, John Belushi, and Eddie Murphy, not to mention offers an intimate ambiance with its beautiful light installations.
