Shalom from Israel, friends! I’ve been having the best time traveling overseas with my husband in Spain and now Israel. I’ve been trying to “snap” as many moments as possible both on my camera and for snapchat (username: thefashionhour). Definitely keep your eye out for many travel posts coming soon and if you have snapchat, add me so you can follow along with my adventures!

I shot today’s trend-inspired look before I left town in Victory Park next to the American Airlines Center. Culottes have been seen everywhere in the fashion world this year and I don’t see them going away anytime soon. When I first noticed the large wave of culottes coming in I was honestly a little intimidated. I thought to myself, this is not a trend for women with any sort of curves and is clearly only flattering on stick skinny girls with long legs. I think my immediate reaction to a lot of styles is that they will only look good on stick skinny girls because well, the models and celebrities shown wearing them are usually stick skinny, right? Well, number one, that is not a good way to think on my part, and number two, it’s not true! You just need to find a style of culottes that fit your body type. I found this beautiful pair of crisp white culottes on clearance at Nordstrom Rack marked down from nearly $200 to under $20, so of course I gave them a try. The reason I think this trend worked for me is because of the cut. This pair of culottes is high-waisted, loose-fitting through the back and thighs, and just the right length. If these were tighter or a low-rise fit, they’d probably look awful. But because of the waist it gives me and pleating of the culottes, it is flattering on my body type. I became such a believer in culottes after this purchase and found myself lusting over pieces like this culottes jumpsuit and this crop top and culottes look.
