Do you have those outfits where they took a while to come together but once they did, you pretty much lived in it? Yeah. That’s this outfit for me. Every piece in this outfit was purchased at a different time. The pants are at least 2 years old, the shirt probably a few months old, the boots- purchased about 2 months ago, the purse- over a year ago, and the vest was a Christmas gift from my mom. What is my point in sharing all of this information with you? To show that you don’t have to go buy an entire outfit all at once and that sometimes you just need to look a little harder at what you already have in your closet to put an outfit together! Because when you do, it’s usually worth it and in my case ends up being something I want to wear every day!
I fell in love (yes, love) with this plaid and chambray button-down I found at T.J. Maxx a while back and knew I would wear it all the time. When my mom gave me this shiny, J. Crew puffer down vest for Christmas I knew it would match perfectly. The beautiful, dark cranberry/burgundy/oxblood/marsala color not only matched the shirt but matched one of my handbags. Don’t you love when that happens? When an outfit just falls into place?
FYI this vest is still available in limited colors and on major sale. The retail price is a little high at $138 (and honestly the quality is worth it), but you should still be able to find it on sale for only $53. Not bad at all for the quality and the fact that this is a piece that will last you many cold weather seasons to come!
Do you have an outfit that is currently on repeat? Leave a comment and let me know! 🙂
